Acupuncture

Acupuncture is among the oldest healing practices in the world. Part of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture is based on the concept, that disease results from a disruption in the flow of Qi, and imbalance in the forces of Yin and Yang (more).

Acupuncture is the stimulation of specific points on the body by a variety of techniques, including the insertion of thin metal needles though the skin. It is intended to remove blockages in the flow of Qi and restore and maintain health.  In the United States acupuncture is considered part of complementary and alternative medicine.

Complementary medicine is used together with conventional medicine. The World Health Organization released a list of 43 types of pathologies which can be effectively treated with acupuncture. As a result, there are now people trained in both Traditional Chinese, as well as modern Western Medical arts, as Marianne, who have made commendable contributions to the treatment of hepatitis, high blood pressure, adjunct to cancer treatment, and other diseases that are so far difficult to treat.
