Holistic Practitioners like to encourage couples to use Traditional Chinese Medicine as their natural, first fertility choice before hormones and invasive procedures.  In couples where both man and woman are treated, those couples tend to have a 40% greater success rate in conceiving.  Acupuncture, frequently combined with Herbal Medicine, has been used for centuries to treat some causes of infertility.  Acupuncture can be used to treat any type of fertility disorder including spasm tubes.  (Spasm tubes are often de-spasmed with Acupuncture)

Additionally, it is shown that Acupuncture can increase blood flow to the endometrium, helping to facilitate a thick, rich lining.  Acupuncture is often combined with Herbal Medicine to treat elevated Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH), repeated pregnancy loss, unexplained (idiopathic) infertility, Luteal phase defect, and male factor including men affected with sperm-DNA-fragmentation.

But recently, Acupuncture has been sought as a possible remedy for female infertility, with American and European studies showing that it enhances the success rate of In Vitro Fertilization (IVF). 

Acupuncture seems to help some women because it improves circulation to the ovaries (which makes for healthier eggs) and to the uterus (which increases the chances that the lining will be strong enough to hold those eggs to full-term).  Acupuncture provides better circulation and better blood flow to the womb.  It will give a better chance for the eggs to be nourished and therefore carried.
